![]() ![]() And make sure the projector lens and headlight plastic are absolutely spotless and free of dust. Don't use windex to clean any of the chrome surfaces or the chrome will come off. You might not need too but better safe than sorry.ġ. You will also need some silicone to put around the headlights after you are all done. If it makes you feel any better put the oven on the "clean" cycle after you are done using it. Just keep an eye on them and you will be fine. The only risk you are running is melting the headlight if you put it too high. ![]() I disabled the day-time running lights and auto lights by cutting a wire from the DRL control module and grounding one side. I paid $10 for it and I dont think its worth the money unless you really really really need to have crazy bright high-beams. I had a relay harness from amazon $10 and used the ballasts from an old Kensun HID kit I had from amazon for $60.Īnd optional high-beam splitter is available so you are able to use the high-beam function of the projectors. I purchased the Morimoto Mini H1 projectors from for $120 I believe, plus another $40 for the HID bulbs. I circled below what i shaved off and i ended up shaving the entire second ring. Once i had the headlight opened i needed to shave some material from the backside of the headlight housing in order for the projector nut to be able to fit. Its not difficult but you need to go slow and apply even and steady force. Then, wearing cotton gloves, i used flat head screwdrivers and i slowly seperated the lense from the back cover. Do not let the headlight touch the side or top of the oven and make sure the clear lense of the headlight doesnt touch anything or it will leave a mark on it. ![]() Then i preheated the oven to 200 degrees and put the headlight in there for 11 minutes. The orange plastic insert the lense has on it is still enough to give the bulb an orange colored tint when lit. I used a steel brush to remove the paint from the bulbs completely. Make sure you clean the headlights from those flakes before you put them back together. Those are from the turn signal bulbs, they tent to crack and peel. At this point you will most likely notice a couple of orange colored "flakes" inside the headlight. ![]()
